Review: Dr. Smith’s Diaper Rash Ointment

February 26, 2015
For the Macaroni Kid Baby Brunch, I received several different Dr. Smith’s Diaper Rash products to review and share with the moms. My favorite of all their products is the new touch-free spray. Where have you been all my baby-raising life?

One of the many challenges we have in early motherhood is diaper rash. Baby’s pain is no secret and taking care of that bottom gently is no easy task.  Dr. Smith’s is here to help you be prepared for that next rashy moment. They’ve helped parents soothe baby bottoms for 45 years.

Shortly after receiving the products for the baby brunch, I did have the “joy” of getting through one of those diaper rash moments. Good timing, still no fun. I decided to give the spray a try.

After the normal clean up phase of diaper changing, 2-year old Macaroni baby was upset and asking for cream yet fighting the hands that were there to put that cream on. Once I got him to relax a little, and share a few puffs of this magical stuff on his bottom the challenge was basically over. Have you ever blown a little puff of air in your baby’s face while they are crying? Everything stops for a moment and their surprised eyes open wide to blink away the tears. That’s basically what happened when Dr. Smith’s touch-free spray hit his bottom. I was afraid that it might sting but his reaction indicated nothing of the sort. A couple after the fact points: The rash cleared up nicely and the spray cleaned up easily on the following diaper change.

While I hope that my house is free of diapers in the very near future, Dr. Smith’s touch-free spray is my go-to solution of choice until then. Dr. Smith’s Diaper Rash Ointment: Developed by a pediatrician and approved by moms. This mom!
