My family has gotten haircuts in the New Market Square area since the kids’ first cuts. As we headed into the new school year, we were looking for a place that was more geared to children and something they could consider a treat. Upon learning more about Pigtails & Crewcuts, we knew we had found the place.
We scheduled an appointment for my daughter on a Saturday and the energy at the salon was immediately apparent. Owner Melissa Lindley answered the phone and was inviting and pleasant from the start. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the owners and stylists and were excited by the look of the room It was full of energy, bright colors, and fun. We were invited to choose from several fun seats, including an airplane, firetruck, or police car or to sit by a television to watch a movie or play video games. These are all great ideas and give your children options to enjoy and be entertained in the way that works best for them while they are getting their haircut.
We witnessed other kids getting their cuts while owner Chance was blowing bubbles for one of their younger guests. We enjoyed getting to know our stylist while my daughter got her haircut. Once finished, she was offered to have her hair braided and sprinkled with glitter! Her face lit up – What a treat!
This is a great place for the whole family. Among the services offered are cuts for all ages including a special first haircut, ear piercing, polish, and even parties. The salon has comfortable seating for those waiting with a train table, and a separate room (the party room) with a dry erase table on which kids can doodle, or just relax and watch TV. As a busy parent, the party option intrigued me. The salon offers parties with themes to choose from; Princess, Diva, Spa, Pirate, or Superhero. For parties with both boys and girls they welcome a mix of themes, and also will allow parties to be customized. The parties include cupcakes, beverages, setup and clean up. They are all-inclusive so parents can sit back and enjoy the party.
